WHO IS A CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL?
Definition
A Certified Professional is an individual certified by the Certified Institute of Professionals as possessing the knowledge, skills, qualifications and/or experience required to address the increasing complexity of modern professional practice, to formulate and implement effective strategies within their professional and operating environments, and to demonstrate a commitment to excellence while contributing positively to their profession and the wider community.
Professional Expectations
Members of the Certified Institute of Professionals (CIP) are encouraged to:
Pursue excellence in their professional practice while maintaining high standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Continually develop the essential knowledge and skills required to adapt to changes in their professions and to effectively manage increasing environmental complexity.
Contribute to their communities locally and internationally through professional service, leadership, and engagement in community activities.
Promote and support initiatives, including research and development projects, that are of significant benefit to the profession and the broader community.
Undertake additional rigorous professional development and training required for progression beyond Associate Member or Member of CIPP.
Eligibility for Membership Rankings
RANKINGS, MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORK EXPERIENCE
Certified Student Affiliate Member - Must be engaged in studying at a Certificate level or higher, with or without work experience.
Certified Associate Member - Certificate and 2 years of work experience in your profession.
Certified Member - Diploma and 3 years of work experience in your profession.
Certified Associate Fellow - Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of work experience in your profession.
Certified Fellow - Master’s degree and 6 years of work experience in your profession. Plus, you must have passed at a graduate or undergraduate level, one of the following courses dealing with: (1) Organizational Change and Development and (2) Strategic Planning.
Certified Distinguished Fellow - Doctorate / PhD degree; 7 years of work experience in your profession. Plus, you must have passed at a graduate or undergraduate level, two of the following courses dealing with: (1) Organizational Change and Development and (2) Strategic Planning.
